Legal
Terms of Use
The terms that apply when you use Study in Oman — as a student browsing the site, or as an institution listing on it.
Last updated 27 July 2026
This document is a draft and is not yet in force. The sections describing how the platform works are accurate. The clauses marked below still require legal review before launch.
1. These terms
Study in Oman is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS, OMAN] ("we", "us"). By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. What Study in Oman is
We are a discovery platform. We list accredited institutions in the Sultanate of Oman and the programmes they offer, so that prospective students can find and compare them and contact an institution directly.
We are not an educational institution, and we are not a government body or affiliated with one. We do not admit students, we do not decide admissions, and we are not party to any agreement you reach with an institution.
3. Using the site as a student
You do not need an account to browse the site or to send an enquiry. When you send one, the details you enter are passed to the institution you selected so that they can reply to you. How your personal data is handled is set out in our Privacy Policy.
You agree not to:
- Send enquiries containing false information, or enquiries on behalf of someone who has not asked you to
- Use the enquiry form to send advertising, spam or abusive content
- Collect or copy listings from the site in bulk, by automated means or otherwise
- Attempt to interfere with, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site
4. Information about institutions and programmes
Institutions write their own listings. Fees, intake dates, entry requirements and programme details are supplied by the institution, and they can change them at any time.
We present that information in a consistent format, but we do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete or current, and it is not an offer of a place or of a price. Before you rely on any figure or date — particularly a fee, an entry requirement or an application deadline — confirm it with the institution directly.
5. Institution accounts
If you register an institution with us:
- You confirm that you are authorised to represent that institution
- An account may be linked to one institution
- You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you publish, and for keeping your login credentials secure
- A new profile is reviewed by us before it first appears publicly, and we may decline to publish it or ask for changes
- You keep ownership of the content you upload, and you permit us to display it on the site and in the downloadable brochure the site generates from it
- You will not publish content you do not have the rights to, or that is misleading about accreditation, outcomes or cost
We may remove a listing, or suspend or unpublish a profile, where these terms have been broken.
6. Enquiries you receive
An enquiry contains the personal data of a real person who contacted you about studying with you. You agree to use it only to respond to that enquiry and to handle it in line with applicable data-protection law — and not to sell it or pass it on for unrelated marketing.
7. How listings are ordered
Outstanding — needs a decision, not just drafting. The order in which institutions and programmes appear in listings and on the home page is set by us, and is not purely alphabetical or purely a relevance score.
Whether, and how, that is disclosed here is a commercial and consumer-law question that has not been settled. It cannot be resolved by writing a sentence in this section: stating that ordering reflects relevance alone would not be true, and describing paid placement would conflict with how the product is designed. Decide the position first.
8. Our brand and the site itself
The site, its design, and the Study in Oman name and logo belong to us. You may link to the site. You may not copy or reuse its design, or use our name or logo to suggest we endorse you.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the site available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including individual features.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Outstanding — requires legal review. Warranty disclaimers and any limitation or exclusion of liability must be drafted for Omani law and checked against the consumer-protection rules that apply to it. Nothing is asserted here in the meantime.
11. Suspending or closing an account
Outstanding — requires legal review. The grounds for suspension or termination, any notice given, what happens to a published profile and to enquiries already received, and how an institution can close its own account and request deletion.
12. Governing law and disputes
Outstanding — requires legal review. Governing law and the forum for disputes. The Sultanate of Oman is the expected answer given where the service operates, but it has not been confirmed and is not asserted here.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
